Tommy Miller

Head Football Coach

2023 is Coach Miller’s second season as Head Coach of the Tigers. Prior to joining the Arlington Tigers, he spent eight seasons at Collierville High School, where he served for three years as defensive assistant coaching safety and five years as the Offensive Coordinator & Quarterbacks Coach. Before that, he coached at Bolton High School from 2005-2013. He was the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterback Coach for six years before taking over as Head Coach in 2011. As Head Coach, he was named District 14 AAA Coach of the Year and the Shelby Metro Sports Talk Radio “Tommy Harrison” Coach of the Year in 2012. Before his coaching career, Coach Miller played two seasons professionally in the IFL and NIFL. He attended college at Arkansas State University, a four-year starter on special teams and a two-year starter at Quarterback. In high school, he played for his father, Kevin Miller, at Mountain Home High School in Arkansas, where he was an All-District and All-State Quarterback, setting the school’s single-season passing record. He was also named the Arkansas 4A Scholar Football Athlete of the Year his senior year. He was a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball and a State Champion in Baseball. In 2017 he was inducted into the MHHS Athletic Hall of Honor. He is married to his wife, Casie; together, they have four children, Taylor, Jenna, Trenton, and Brock.

Devon Coburn

Offensive Line Coach

Coach Coburn began on the Arlington Football coaching staff in 2015 where he has coached both the offensive and defensive lines.  He is the Run Game Coordinator and offensive line coach this season.  A native of Noxapater, Miss., Coach Coburn earned three letters while playing at Ole Miss. His career at Ole Miss started as a defensive lineman, but he moved to the offensive line during the spring of 1996. During his senior season, he started all 12 games at left tackle and earned second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors. He was selected for Offensive Lineman of the Week honors for games with Tulane and Georgia. He also started at offensive tackle as a junior and defensive tackle his sophomore season. Devon signed to the Detroit Lions in 1998. He holds a BBA in Marketing and Masters of Education. Coach Coburn and his wife Anntionette have three children: Darian, Keanna, and Charity.

Gary Miller

Co-Defensive Coordinator

Inside Linebackers Coach

Coach Miller enters his seventh season with the Arlington football staff, and Gary will return for his third season as a Defensive Back Coach. Coach Miller is a graduate of Arlington High School (2016) and a former player who played strong safety for four years. Gary is currently a paraprofessional for the high school while pursuing a BSE degree from the University of Memphis.

Casey Nelson

Defensive Backs Coach

Coach Nelson was raised in Florida, where he played wide receiver at Choctawhatchee High School. He went on to play semi-pro football while serving in the US Air Force in Dayton, OH. He started his coaching career at Twin Valley South High School in West Alexandria, OH. Before his 2-year sabbatical, Coach Nelson was the freshman head coach for 11 years and varsity for two at Arlington High School. Coach Nelson is married to Emily and has three kids: Caleb (former player at Arlington), Cailey (former dancer at Arlington), and Cam (current player at Arlington). He enjoys playing golf, LOVES everything Disney, and is active at Bellevue Baptist Church.

Jonathan Loyd

Wide Receivers Coach

Coach Loyd is entering his fifth season with Arlington and will be coaching the receivers. Before coming to Arlington, he was at Christian Brothers High School, where he served as the freshman defensive coordinator receivers coach and assisted with the varsity defense. Coach Loyd graduated from Riverdale High School in 2010, where he lettered four years of varsity football and then received his Bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University, where he assisted the football program. He received his Master’s degree from the University of Memphis. Coach Loyd is married to his wife Whitney, and they have a beautiful young daughter named Sutton, born in 2021.

David Williams

Defensive Line Coach

Coach Williams is entering his fifth year as an Arlington High School Coaching Staff member. Coach Williams attended Collierville High School and graduated in 1996. While playing at Collierville, Williams was selected as a member of the Best of the Preps All-Metro Squad by the Commercial Appeal and was selected Region 6 AAAA All-Region. Coach Williams attended Lambuth University, a three-year starter on the football team. Williams graduated from Lambuth with a BS in History. Williams is a Lieutenant with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, where he has been employed for 17 years. He is married to Vicky and has three children David Jr, Wyatt, and Addison.

Coach Pellitteri

Running Backs Coach

Coach Pelletteri  enters his second year at Arlington High School. He is a graduate of Collierville High School, where he also began coaching as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for two years prior to becoming the running backs coach.

Jonathan Bussey

Outside Linebackers Coach

Coach Bussey enters his first season at Arlington High School. Prior to joining Arlington, he spent two seasons at Collierville High School, where he served as the Freshman Linebackers Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, and assisted the Varsity Defensive Staff. Before that, he coached for the Bartlett Middle School Program in 2020 as their Defensive Line Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. He helped establish Bartlett’s first joint middle school team. Prior to his coaching career, Coach Bussey graduated in 2013 from Macon Road Baptist School. He played football, basketball, and soccer. In football he was a two-year letterman, Team Captain, All- District/All-State player, and a 2012 TACS State Champion. During his senior season, Coach Bussey broke the school’s single season tackle record with 99 tackles his senior season. After high school, Coach Bussey attended Bethel University and was a member of the 2015 football team. In 2016, he transferred back home to The University of Memphis where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and his Master’s Degree in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership with a concentration in Physical Education in May 2023. Coach Bussey is married to his wife Jessica.

Caleb Nelson

Freshmen Head Coach

Offensive Coordinator

Coach Nelson is entering his 2nd season of coaching, his first season at Arlington. He graduated from Arlington in 2018 where he played Wide Receiver and was a return specialist. After Arlington, he went on to Bethel University to play Football and run track where he received All-Conference recognition in both sports. After 3 seasons, he transferred to the University of Memphis to pursue ministry, working at Bellevue Baptist church. This past season, Coach Nelson was the Varsity Offensive Coordinator and Freshman/JV head coach at Brighton High School. Caleb graduated from the University of Memphis with a Health Science degree and he is married to Abigail.

Tyler McCoin

Freshman Offensive and Defensive Line Coach

Coach Tyler is entering his first year of coaching with Arlington Football, aligning with his first year as a paraprofessional at the high school. A former offensive line standout for Bethel University's football team, Tyler's five-year tenure led to two conference championship wins and an All-Conference recognition. His football journey began in Odessa, TX, and evolved into a commitment that thrived at Rossview High School in Clarksville, TN. Having graduated in 2023 with an Education degree, Tyler's transition from player to coach is seamless. Beyond the field, he shares a heartwarming journey with his wife Aubrey, a graduate of Arlington High School, as they await the arrival of their son in November 2023. Tyler's coaching approach blends personal triumphs, team spirit, and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of players.

Anthony Fox

Middle School Director/Head Coach

Freshman Defensive Coordinator

Coach Fox is entering his ninth season with Arlington Middle and is the Middle School Director/Head Coach; this will be his fourth season in that role; he was the offensive coordinator before that. This is his first year as a freshman coach and is serving as the defensive coordinator. Before joining the Middle school staff, he was the offensive coordinator at the AYS Tigers for seven years. This will be his sixteenth year coaching Arlington football. Coach Fox graduated from Franklin High School, where he played football all three years and then received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Coach Fox is married to his wife, Clare, and has two children, Emma & Mac, both graduates of AHS.
